next on March 2
Lunchtime in the Studio will be held on Friday, March 2 in the Several Dancers Core studios from noon to 1 p.m. The free event will be free lunch and a discussion with the dancers of their involvement in teaching workshops and residencies with the community. The final Lunchtime event of this season will be held Friday,May 4. Lunch is donated by Sweet Melissa's and Brick Store Pub.

Spring Fieldwork offered for independent artists
SDC and Emory University Dance Program offer Spring Fieldwork workshop beginning February 21. Fieldwork is for artists in any discipline creating new work to show the work and receive feedback from their peers. Meeting weekly, the workshop offers independent artists the support of a structured but flexible environment for developing their art, whether it is dance, music, theater, writing or multi-media.

CORE Performance Company audition for dancers
Stefany CORE Performance Company will hold auditions for dancers will hold auditions for new dancers Friday, February 23 OR Saturday, February 24 from 1- 3 p.m. in the Several Dancers Core upstairs studio in Downtown Decatur. The auditions are for professional level dancers over the age of 20 with a background in contemporary dance, including improvisation, who are open to working in a collaborative environment for the creation of dynamic new dance works. Members of the company work 20-hours per week on a 32 week contract for the season, which includes extensive touring both national and international.
The audition will consist of a modern dance class that includes some improvisation. Applicants are requested to bring to the audition, a resume and statements of personal, professional and artistic goals. These documents may be sent ahead of time to pre-register for the audition, by emailing them to Several Dancers Core indicating which date you will be attending the audition.
