Woodruff Dance @ the Rialto presents...
CORE Performance Company and Atlanta Baroque Orchestra in Messiah
On April 1, 2006 CORE will perform Messiah together with live music by the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Antoine Plante of Houston's Mercury Baroque. The dance re-envisions the classic score with contemporary sophistication that will delight and inspire audeinces, both fans of Handel's masterwork and those new to the piece.

Musicians join CORE Performance Company for Messiah
CORE will be joined in the orchestra pit by fourteen musicians of the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, conducted by Antoine Plante from Houston's Mercury Baroque. The dancers will share the stage with four guest soloists and the sixteen-person choir of the ABO will also add their voices to the production.

Lecture: Modernism and Mobility/Nomadism and the Arts
As part of the Year of Beckett, with which CORE will be performing next season, Dr. Michael Haerdter from Berlin Dr. Haerdter will discuss nomadism in the arts and raise fundamental issues of forming creative transnational communities capable of responding to and interacting with our rapidly changing world and its multiple challenges. The lecture will take place March 21 from 4 to 6pm in the Jones Room, Woodruff Library, Emory University. A roundtable discussion will follow with local arts leaders and academics.
