SDC welcomes new staff
Several Dancers Core is pleased to announce that a new office manager, a summer intern and a touring and outreach coordinator have joined our staff.
Emily Christianson joins us as office manager, with prior administrative experience at Dance New Amsterdam in NYC, she is also a dancer and choreographer. Whitney Brown, a student in music at Agnes Scott College is interning for the summer with us, joining our intern from last season, Natalie Metzger from Emory University. Molly Schneider Perez is transitioning from office manager to touring and outreach coorindator. Coming to us with a MFA in dance from University of Michigan, she will also be performing with CORE Performance Company next season.

Our collaborating video artist, Maya CiarrocchiMaya Ciarrocchi is collaborating with CORE Performance Company on the new piece, Corazón Abriendo (Heart Opening) that will premiere in Atlanta at 7 Stages Theatre on November 10-12, 2006.
Maya is a video designer and installation artist, who accompanied CORE to the rainforests and highlands of Chiapas, Mexico last November to record the experience.
Maya performed with CORE during her professional dance career of many years. She currently creates immersive video environments for the stage and exhibition space. Her installations have been exhibited internationally and she has created video and projection design for such choreographers as Wally Cardona, Fred Darsow and Alejandra Martorell. In 2004, Ciarrocchi was selected to create décor for Merce Cunningham’s Events at the Joyce Theater in NYC. Recent projects include video design for Bebe Miller’s Landing/Place, and Donna Uchizono’s Approaching Green. Maya holds a BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase and an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts.
