"Absence/Presence" at MFAH

Muesum of Fine Arts, Houston presents CORE Performance Company in "Absence/Presence" at Artful Thursday, FREE on May 11 at 6:00 p.m. CORE Performance Company navigates the gallery space of the exhibition "Joseph Havel: A Decade of Sculpture, 1996-2006" with a riveting performance of new choreography.

Havel’s work hovers between two realms: the absence and presence of the subject in each piece of art and the play between the symbolic versus the representational as well as between looking forward and backward in time. CORE Performance Company engages the human body specifically the dancer/performer, with these dualities, creating a kinesthetic bridge to the exhibition.

"Weaving Connections" at Riley Chambers Community Center

Following a fun, well-attended workshop at Hockley Community Center last week, Several Dancers Core presents CORE Performance Company in "Weaving Connections" at the Riley Chambers Community Center on May 10, at 10 AM. The performance is FREE, but please contact the center if you plan to attend.
