CORE creation period in Mexico continues
CORE Performance Company has been in Mexico City for two weeks for a creation period with choreographer Alicia Sanchez. Amidst rain from hurricanes and learning to navigate the city of 27 million, CORE has been working with Sanchez to create new works during this period that will be performed together with works by other commissioned choreographers in an evening of premieres next season. Sanchez's work was seen recently in Houston as part of the Big Range Dance Festival, where four of the dancers from her company were presented by SDC.
SDC is funded by the generous support the Pattillo Foundation, the City of Houston through the Houston Arts Alliance, The Houston Endowment Inc., AirTran Airways and Texas Commission on the Arts.
